JóAnn Gaudry
Jo-Ann’s background is in the performing arts, she earned her BFA in theatre directing, and then went on to make music videos.
Since an early age of 16, when she left her small hometown to study in Australia, she has continued to travel, explore and work in over 40 different countries.
Jo-Ann is particularly inspired by the ways in which cultures and technology intersect. The presence of web communication technologies in some of the most remote communities on the planet is what brought her to Internet development and her involvement with ZeD, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s lauded late night TV/web cross platform experiment. She uses elements of design, photography, video and theatre to create work that combines traditional drama with stunning visuals. By effectively utilizing the Internet, and her background in both stage directing and video, JóAnn is emerging as a talented new film director.
Her intention is to continue to integrate new technologies in her story telling.
